A cocoa bomb is a hollow chocolate shell, not a solid bar. Two hemispheres have to mate on a clean equator, release without cracking a thin wall, and still look glossy after temper. If you copy a solid-bonbon cavity, the wall comes out thick, the halves don't sit, and the seam shows in the mug shot. Hemisphere, not a filled sphere
Send finished outer diameter, target wall, chocolate type, whether halves are identical or a lid/base pair, logo on the dome or the seam land, cavity count, and tray size. A "looks like 50 mm" screenshot doesn't freeze wall thickness. Too thin and the shell cracks on demold; too thick and it never melts on cue in the mug - that's your process, but the cavity still has to match the wall you named.
The equator is a shut. If you park a logo on that land, the mark shears or the halves don't sit. Put the brand on a free dome face with drafted stroke - logo DFM.
Vacuum lock vs Shore A
A deep hemisphere can lock like a suction cup. Don't specify 10A thinking softness alone solves it - a floppy water-thin wall also sags. Options: more draft, a peelable wall, a slightly open equator, or a split. A loaded multi-cavity tray without a jacket can sag about 0.5-1.5 mm at the edge; outer-row shells then run heavy or oval.
Gloss copies the master. Freeze finish before you like the first temper.
Food-contact, fatty chocolate

When this bomb advice does not apply
A solid bonbon or bar is not a bomb. Ice spheres are freeze tools, not temper tools - ice sphere molds. A one-off showpiece can skip multi-cavity. Geometry can override quantity: a locked undercut dome still needs draft at 40 pours. Polycarbonate half-spheres are a different family if that's your line standard.

We would not recommend a solid-bonbon pocket for a hollow bomb
We would not recommend parking the logo on the mating equator. We would not go 10A first to "fix" vacuum lock. We would not call 177.2600 a factory approval. We would not skip mating the two prototype halves before MOQ 20.

FAQ
Can you copy a polycarbonate bomb mold in silicone? We can copy the geometry if you send measurements or a scan. Finish and peel will not be identical to PC. Say if mirror PC is the standard you have to match.
Why did my shells crack on demold? Wall too thin, undercut at the equator, or vacuum lock. Add draft or a peel wall. Softer rubber without geometry change just tears the lip.
Should the logo sit on the seam so both halves show it? No. Marks on the mating land shear or keep the halves from sitting. Put the brand on the dome.
Is this FDA-approved? No factory stamp. 21 CFR 177.2600 is extraction of the finished article. Name the market and compound.
Do I need a prototype if I already sell bombs in PC? Yes if you're changing to RTV. Prototype in 3-7 business days after CAD lock; mate the halves and weigh before MOQ 20.
