Custom Molds, Tooling & Silicone Products

RUUIPON supports two broad buying paths. Some customers need a flexible silicone mold that they will fill with another material. Others need a finished silicone product or component made directly in silicone. The correct tooling, material and production method are different, so we identify the final deliverable before quoting.

Custom RTV Silicone Molds

We make flexible silicone casting molds for gummy, chocolate, baking, ice, resin, candle, soap, plaster and other casting applications. The mold structure is designed around the casting material, release path, cavity count, filled weight, detail level and production workflow.

HCR/HTV Compression-Molded Products

HCR/HTV compression molding is used for finished silicone products and components produced in heated metal tooling. Typical projects include trays, kitchenware, seals, gaskets, covers, grips, keypads, protective parts and other repeat-production silicone items.

Development Process

A Clear Development Path Before Production

    Send the File, Sample or Reference

    STEP/STP is preferred for dimension-controlled engineering work, but STL, drawings, photos, artwork and physical samples can also be used to begin review.

    DFM Review

    We review the release path, undercuts, parting lines, wall or web design, cavity layout, support, inserts, fit features and process-specific risks before tooling is released.

  3. 3

    CAD or Reverse Engineering When Needed

    If production-ready geometry does not exist, we confirm the required modeling or reverse-engineering scope before chargeable design begins. Simple 3D modeling is typically around USD 50 when the project is not complex.

  4. 4

    Prototype and Validation

    The prototype should prove the items that matter to the job: dimensions, fit, demolding, cavity volume, piece weight, surface finish, hardness, assembly or functional performance.

  5. 5

    Tooling and Production

    Production begins after the design or sample is approved. Applicable RTV mold programs can start from 20 molds per design. HCR/HTV, LSR, overmolding and metal-tool programs are quoted according to the project.

Define What Must Pass Before Production

Quality control is more useful when the buyer identifies critical requirements before production rather than after shipment. Depending on the project, the inspection plan may include:

  • critical dimensions
  • fit or assembly
  • hardness where specified
  • surface finish
  • flash and parting-line condition
  • logo and texture reproduction
  • cavity volume or piece-weight consistency
  • mold flatness or support
  • demolding
  • application-specific function

When an approved sample is the correct production reference, keep the revision and approval record with the job.

Materials & documentation

Select the Material for the Actual Application

Material selection depends on what the silicone will contact and what the finished mold or part must survive. Relevant factors can include food contact, service temperature, flexibility, tear requirements, chemical exposure, color, mechanical load, repeated use and cleaning.

For food-contact projects, material and available test documentation are confirmed for the selected silicone grade, intended use and destination market. A report for one compound or one article should not be presented as a factory-wide approval for every product.

Custom Silicone Manufacturing FAQs

Does RUUIPON only make RTV silicone molds?

No. RUUIPON supports custom RTV silicone molds, HCR/HTV compression molding, LSR injection molding, silicone overmolding, tooling, prototyping and finished silicone-product production where the project fits the process.

Is MOQ 20 the minimum for every silicone project?

No. MOQ from 20 applies to applicable custom RTV mold production after the design or prototype is approved. HCR/HTV, LSR, overmolding and metal-tool programs are quoted according to tooling, part geometry, material and production requirements.

Can you start from a photo or physical sample?

Yes. Clear photos, measurements and samples can begin the review. For fit-sensitive or dimension-critical projects, we may still need a physical sample, locked CAD or additional measurements before tooling is released.

How long does a prototype take?

For a straightforward custom mold, simple 3D design and prototype development is typically about 3–5 days after the necessary design information is approved. Complex split molds, large molds, metal tooling, HCR/HTV or LSR projects can require a different schedule.

Can you make food-contact silicone molds?

Yes. Food-contact projects can use an appropriate silicone material for the application. Available test documentation is confirmed for the selected grade, intended use and destination market.

What file format should I send?

STEP or STP is preferred for dimension-controlled engineering work. STL, OBJ, PDF drawings, sketches, artwork, photos and physical samples can also be reviewed.
