Custom Silicone Project RFQ Checklist

A good RFQ does not need to be perfect. It needs to make clear what you want to receive, what it must do and what information is still missing.

Use this checklist for custom molds and finished silicone products.

Choose:

RTV silicone casting mold
HCR/HTV molded silicone product
HCR/HTV tooling
LSR part
silicone overmolding
not sure

Upload:

STEP/STP
STL/OBJ
drawing
vector artwork
photos
physical sample note

State whether the file is final or concept.

For a mold, say what you cast.

For a finished silicone product, describe the use/environment.

Include:

overall dimensions
fit surfaces
sealing
target weight/volume
logo
cosmetic surfaces
critical tolerance

If you know the required grade/hardness, include it.

If not, provide:

application
flexibility need
filled weight/support
demolding
temperature/chemical exposure

I only have an existing physical product. What do I send?

Photos, dimensions and a note that a physical sample is available.

I need an NDA first. Should I send the RFQ without CAD?

Yes. Send a high-level project brief and request the NDA before the sensitive files.

I do not know the hardness. Can you quote?

Yes, if the application and geometry are clear enough to review.
