Chocolate Gloss vs Matte: Master, Cavity, Temper
A dull bar is not automatically a dull mold. If you are chasing gloss on a chocolate RTV, this page is that chain: master finish, first silicone contact, temper, and condensation after demold. A polished cavity does not override poor temper.

Start on the master
The rubber copies the physical master: polish, sanding marks, print layers, sealer haze. The first silicone layer can lose microdetail if it bridges or traps air. Approve the master under the same light you will judge the bar.

Temper and condensation
Temper is a separate failure. A good cavity can still bloom or dull if the mass is off or the bar sweats after demold. Geometry can also starve a polished pocket so the logo looks matte while the field is glossy. Intentional matte texture is a master choice, not a defect.
Worked example: cold room
Typical job, not a named PO. Buyer remade a tray for gloss. The empty cavity matched the polished master. Bars dulled after a walk through a cold corridor. We held the tool and wrote a dry-room demold. The remake would have copied the same process.
