Silicone Mold Wall Thickness and Web Design

There is no honest universal wall thickness for every silicone mold. A 2.5-5 mm band you may have seen on older pages was marketing, not a shop law. Thickness depends on Shore, span, how you demold, and whether a support shell carries the load.

• Thin webs between cavities that tear first
• Unsupported span that sags when filled
• Logo islands that need local rubber, not a thicker whole tray
• Whether a jacket / support shell is cheaper than extra rubber
